Meet Beverly an artist who gives jewelrymaking a good name. It has been almost exactly a year since she launched her online website Charmedseed Jewelry. Beverly creates quality jewelry and believes it does not have to be over-priced to compliment current fashion. Her jewelry has a classic, vintage flair that I love. My favorite is her wordspell signature line. Beverly also enjoys sewing and even has a custom costuming service. We are excited we found her as we love supporting local artists, welcome to our Beta Club!

The impressive cast of Beta Girls just keeps growing and growing. Welcome Andreea Ayers, the Founder of Tees For Change. Tees For Change is an eco-friendly t-shirt company that displays positive, uplifting messages on each shirt. For every shirt sold at retail value Tees For Change plants a tree. The company was started in 2007 when Andreea was pregnant with her first child. It is an inspiring, must read story, Andreea took a negative and turned it into a profitable company. It shows just how powerful words are. We are thankful to have you as a Beta Girl!

Meet Julie Penner a Graduate Student at the University of Colorado. Julie has a strong passion for entrepreneurship and has completely immersed herself in it. She co-facilitates the Boulder New Technology Meetup that is held monthly at the Wolf School of Law. Julie is also a member of the university’s 2008 Venture Capital Investment (VCIC) team and is a member of the CU Entrepreneurial advisory board. Before moving to Boulder Julie worked for Axon Labs, a startup formed by classmates from Brown. You can learn more about her by checking out her blog that she calls At Full Tilt. This Beta Girl has taste! Meet self proclaimed food snob Emily Olson of Foodzie. Emily was a chemistry turned communications major at Virginia Tech. But ultimately her love for food took over. Emily began witnessing so many small food producers who were struggling to get their specialty foods on shelves. This is where her idea for Foodzie came about. She started Foodzie with two of her friends, now they are all in Boulder participating in TechStars. Here they will be fine-tuning their startup before unleashing it to the world.

Our newest Beta Girl is Emily McDonnell, who is Fuser’s Community Advocate. Fuser is a cool website that allows users to manage their online activity (email, twitter, facebook) at one centralized location. Emily is a CU graduate who happens to love sports. She was a community relations intern at Kroenke Sports Enterprises and is a key player on the Fuser Softball team when she is not getting hurt:)

Don’t ever say a girl can’t code! Meet Sara Olive, a self proclaimed Technology Sorceress who has all the skills to back it up. Everything she does is magic, just take a look at newly launched dandyid.org, a startup that Sara Co-Founded. Yo, meet fiery Samantha Harms and welcome her to the Fling it Girl menage. Samantha is a Product Manager over at PublicEarth, a start up that is changing the way people create, use and share information about the world around them, using the Internet and location-aware devices. (stole this from her LinkedIn page) Samantha’s blog highfire Danger 2.0 (i am a fire starter, a twisted fire starter…sorry we had Prodigy playing as I wrote this) chronicles her journey as a web startup junkie. If your into startups, it’s a must read. We have a feeling that her Fling Worthy finds will be HOT! (was that too cheesy?)

Samantha is the founder, producer, and host of The Samantha Murphy Show on SMtv. She started SMtv in 2005 to showcase unsigned artists and discuss their life and work with a broad audience. SMtv also provides free music and videos of the featured artists. Everybody clap your hands (clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap) and say hello to Beta Girl Amber. Amber is the hostess and “Puppet Master” at newly launched C-O-D-E Creations. What is C-O-D-E Creations you may ask? They are a community of artists and T-shirt Design lovers that submit and judge which designs are the most popular and worth printing. The chosen apparel is printed on-demand with constant turn over. Also, winning designs may receive a prize package worth up to $4,000. However, the best thing about C-O-D-E Creations is that they started the business with a goal of no more homeless pets. You gotta love that!

Chocolate lovers unite and welcome Leslie to Beta Girl central. Leslie, out to take over the world one chocolate at a time, is the founder and chef of Luca Chocolate. Luca Chocolate’s philosophy is to find the freshest ingredients, create the best chocolates possible, share them while they’re still freshly made, and have it all come together to create a memory. We can testify that this philosophy works. A few months ago we were given a sample of her work at Tech Stars For a Day from Foodzie. We can still taste the contrast between the salt and the sweet dark chocolate that was the Sea Salt Caramel. Her first item that she Flung Up on Fling it Girl was chocolate covered bacon! If only Fling it Girl had taste-o-vision.

Drum Roll please! Girls and dudes of all ages introducing our latest beta girl: the amazing, the talented, the digital…Julia Roy. (the crowd cheers wildly) Julia is a Senior Agent at Undercurrent. Undercurrent is a social interactive think tank that helps brands and agencies understand and engage with a new generation of consumers that were born digital. Her blog JuliaRoy.com chronicles the digital world from an “Entirely Digital Girl’s” perspective. Check out her Flickr page and you will quickly realize that there is more to Julia than just pixels and bytes. Julia you “Rock the Casbah!”

Heather is a crew member at My Space or Yours (handmade myspace layouts), founder of Caprishine.com (website design studio), and a talented voice over artist whose work can be sampled at Heather Capri Voices. How do you do it all girlfriend? We are just so grateful and by the looks of her various talents I bet her Fling Worthy finds will be unique and fresh.
