BlogHer 2008 - A Dude’s Perspective

So, I attended BlogHer 2008 with my most lovely wife Kary this past weekend in San Francisco. It was my first BlogHer conference and I really did not know what to expect. It did not help that I had many men and women give me all kinds of advice as to what the convention was going to be like. Also, there was the usual pre-BlogHer controversy as to why men can’t speak and all. Believe me when I say that I was told to expect everything from A to Z. I went in with an open (but tired as heck) mind and I loved it. It was so good. I just saw women being women and having fun. They were sharing, interacting, and learning only like women can in an environment that catered exclusively to them. Yes, there were smart, powerful, confident, and very well spoken women. But that wasn’t the key for me. The key was again an environment that caters exclusively to women. Oh, and yes, the women knew how to party!

One thing that did surprise me was the high number of women that had regular flip phones. Hmmm…iPhone/Smartphone untapped market?

Mom Road Trip to BlogHer 2008

Fling it Girl met up with the girls from Mom Road Trip last night for drinks as they made their way through Denver. Devra, Sarah, Meagan, and Aviva are currently in the last phases of their trip across America culminating at the BlogHer conference in San Francisco. A good time was had by all as they shared stories from the road. Everything from carsickness to “WOW there’s absolutely nothing to see in Nebraska” to very scary windmills! But the best part was that we were able to show the travelers some good old Rocky Mountain Love. Can’t wait to see them again in a few days at BlogHer. And girls drive it like it’s a rental!
